Overview
Limitations
- Visual AVCHD Time Stamp (vATS) works on Windows 10/11. The older version (<4.0.0) works on Windows 7, 8.
- Visual AVCHD Time Stamp (vATS) generates MP4, WMV, and AVCHD compatible format output files. The MP4 is the recommended output format.
- The AVCHD compatible format is not
recognized by all video editing software. These software (as of July 2012) recognize the format:
- Windows Live Movie Maker
- Corel VideoStudio
- CyberLink PowerDirector
- Nero ShowTime
- Sony Vegas
- Adobe Premiere
Note: The AVCHD compatible format generated
using NVIDIA GPU is slightly different from that generated without NVIDIA GPU.
The list of video edit software that recognize the 2 formats may be different.
- Due to the limitation of older version of NVIDIA GPU (e.g. GTS 250), when such GPU is used for AVCHD encoding, output 50p and 60p are not possible. Instead:
- 50p input video is converted to 25p video output
- 60p (59.94p) input video is converted to 30p (29.97p) video output
Features
- Supports NTSC or PAL AVCHD file formats.
- Accelerated AVCHD decoding using NVIDIA GPU if the computer is equiped with such GPU.
- Supports large file size (> 100GB).
- Superimposes different formats of date/time to the video, including custom stamp format.
- Time adjustment (years, months, days, hours, minutes, seconds) to the recording time code.
- Stamp in different languages (Numeric, English, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish).
- User selected font (face, style, size).
- Font brightness adjustment, optional font outline, and transparency adjustment.
- Different stamp duration mode.
- Stamp fade in/out.
- Arbitrary stamp location.
- Preview stamped video, accurate to pixel level. The effect of any change to the stamp options can be viewed instantly, before actual stamp process starts.
- Shutdown computer automatically up on completion of stamping all files.
- Save settings in a project file.
Benefit of having NVIDIA GPU
The following table contains the results of stamping video in different preference selections, using the version 3.0.0. These are details of the test setup:
- The OS is 64 bit Windows 7, Home Premium, Service Pack 1
- The CPU is Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz, 4GB memory
- The GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTS250 1GB memory, Driver version 275.33
- There are total of 8 assorted video clips, total length is 194 sec. The output is set to 1920x1080, bitrate 18Mbps
